Main Street Memories

Just about two weeks ago at around 5 PM, I was at the end of Douglas Avenue, getting ready to pull out on Hwy 395 and as I turned to look for oncoming traffic, I was shocked to see three huge wild turkeys strutting towards me on the sidewalk! No kidding! They looked totally at ease in their surroundings; much like three old friends taking a stroll down main street, enjoying the sites on a warm spring evening. Lol! Wish I hadn't left my camera at home because that was a sight you don't see often!
Best Wishes,

When I first opened my studio/gift shop in the old house that is now Baby Willows, we used to have parking on the street in front. The highway was only one lane and there were no stop lights at all, only one stop sign. I could actually wave to people as they walked by or drove by back then. For several years after they took the parking away, I had many customers still parking in front of the store to shop. I would have to run outside to let them know that they were actually parking in the slow lane of the street! It wasn't too scary at the time as people drove a lot slower then.
