We invite you to visit Gardnerville situated at the foot of the Sierras in Northern Nevada to see first hand our unique
downtown. Although we are a work in progress, Main Street Gardnerville is proud of its community and heritage. We
are working to preserve that for future generations.
Main Street Gardnerville is committed to preserving Gardnerville's historic downtown district as the destination place for Gardnerville residents and tourists who want to eat, drink, shop, gather to meet neighbors, and enjoy cultural activities in
a "hometown" atmosphere.
Main Street Gardnerville is backed by the National Historic Trust and the National Main Street Center. Main Street projects take a holistic approach towards economic development. By promoting historic preservation and downtown merchants,
and supporting a coordinated approach to design and development, Main Street projects help towns preserve their past
as they revitalize their economic and cultural presence they truly become vibrant hometowns that future generations can
enjoy.
Gardnerville offers a very good selection of restaurants and retail shops offering everything from home decor to gift items, fine wines, salons, gambling and clothing.
Main Street Gardnerville was created as a non-profit partner with the Town of Gardnerville and the Douglas County Board of Commissioners. Since its inception, Board members have created a strategic plan, mission statement, goals and objectives, which are updated quarterly.
We are taking downtown Gardnerville into the future while still holding on to the small town history.
You can find out more about the Main Street Program by visiting the National Trust Main Street Center.
